Norma Jean Clabough, 73, Powell, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell.
Norma was a member of Brushy Valley Community Baptist Church. She loved her family and was so proud of her grandkids. Norma was all about family. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sitting outside, and going for drives.
Norma was preceded in death by: Parents, Ballard and Ella Steffey; and sisters, Claudine Trotter and Alma Smiley.
Norma is survived by: Husband, Frank Clabough Jr.; sons, Mark Clabough and wife Becky, Jeff Clabough, and Billy Ray and wife Judy Clabough, all of Powell; brother, Walter Coward of Powell; sisters, Ada Lamb and her husband William of Powell, and Elsie Lamb of Lake City; grandchildren, Wesley Clabough, Gracie Clabough, and Whitney and Will Barnes.
Norma’s family will receive her friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Jones Mortuary in Clinton with her funeral service immediately following in the chapel of Jones Mortuary at 8 p.m. with the Rev. George Miller officiating.
Norma’s graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at Bells Campground Cemetery in Powell.

SARAH ELIZABETH (LIBBY) WHITE

Sarah Elizabeth (Libby) White, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter of God, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at her home in Oak Ridge, from heart failure.
A native of Coal Creek, she was married to Briceville native James Eugene (Gene) White for 53 years prior to his death in 2000. Libby raised three sons, was grandma to Jake and Amber and Gamoo to Alex and Conner.
Having previously lived in Daytona Beach, Fla., the site of her wedding to Gene, and later Chicago, Ill., Libby made Oak Ridge her home for more than 60 years. She, along with Gene, devoted many years of service to Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was teacher, counselor, usher, committee chair and worked with United Methodist women and youth. She also served as the President of Women’s Society of Christian Service.Upon the closure of Trinity UMC, she transferred her membership to First Methodist and then Kern Methodist Church.
She assisted her husband Gene in his writing two books on his hometown of Briceville and continued his tradition of providing college scholarships for deserving Briceville students. She later contributed original writings to her oldest son Larry’s book, “We Remember Dad.”
Libby played piano by ear and often accompanied Gene on Lay Leader assignments to small area churches. Gene from the pulpit and Lib providing the music, her sons Larry, Steve, and David all wrote about these memories in Larry’s book.
She met and influenced many at Methodist Hospital, where she was a long-time volunteer and served two terms as President of the Volunteers as well as organizing and participating in their charity fashion shows. Her collection of both bells and dolls, fostered by her sons, filled many hours and often helped others forget their troubles.
She will be missed by her family and multitude of friends, among which are Elementary School classmates Marjorie Adkins, Ilene Cash and Juanita Smith.
Preceded in death by: Husband, Gene; and son, Stephen.
Libby is survived by: Sons, Dr. Larry E. White and his wife Dr. Jackie White, David W. White and his wife Benita White; and grandsons, Alexander and Conner; daughter-in-law, Terri White; grandson Jake; granddaughter, Amber; and sister, Charlotte Blackburn; as well as multiple nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends at Weatherford Mortuary from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. The funeral will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating and the Rev. Walter Willis offering the eulogy.
A private burial will follow.

Bobbie Riggs, 81, Clinton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at her residence.
Bobbie was a member of South Clinton Baptist Church and the Red Hats Society. She was a local floral designer for many years in Anderson County.
Preceded in death by: Husband, George Riggs; parents, Robert and Irene Martin; brothers, Larry and Charles Martin; sisters, Linda and Vivian Martin.
She is survived by: Daughters, Susan Weaver and husband Gary of Clinton, Debi Fox and husband Tommy of Clinton, Cindy Lollar and husband Phillip of Clinton; son, Robert Riggs of Clinton; grandchildren, Jeremy Pyatt and wife Melissa, Dennis Sharp Jr. and wife Waynette, Lance Pettiford and Tessa Lollar; great-grandchildren, Mason, Evan, Isaac, Tanner and Kami; brothers, Paul Ray Martin and wife Jane, Ralph Martin and wife Rebbecca; sister, Carolyn Jenkins; several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.
Her graveside will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Garden.

Betty Diane Hansen, 58, Andersonville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was a very giving and loving person. Betty enjoyed embroidering and was a very good cook. She loved flowers and loved to work.
Betty was preceded in death by: Father, Cleve Crawford; husbands, Richard Hansen and Danny Martin; and stepson, Ricky J. Hansen.
She is survived by: Mother, Myra Duncan of Clinton; son, David Martin of Jacksboro; daughter, Chasta Foust of Knoxville; brother, Timothy Crawford of Clinton; sisters, Karen Watzlawick and husband Ralph of Clinton, Janie Fails and husband Doug of St. Augustine, Fla., and Tina Crawford of Knoxville; grandchildren, Sabra Martin and Emmerson Webster.
She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Linda Beets Jennings, 70, a lifelong resident of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at her residence in the presence of her loving family.
Linda was a member of Sinking Springs United Methodist Church. She retired from DOE as an industrial security analyst after 37 years of service. Throughout her life she loved going to church, University of Tennessee ballgames, and spending time with her loving family.
Preceded in death by: Parents, George Woodrow and Mary Evelyn Wallace Beets.
She is survived by: Son, Dale Jennings of Clinton; grandchildren, Cara Evelyn Jennings, Greyson Hart Woodrow Byrge; brother, Wally Beets and wife Leta of Clinton; nephews, Cory Wallace Beets and wife Kayla, Chris Beets; niece, Amanda Leahn Beets; several cousins and host of family and friends.

JAMES ‘JIM’ RUCKER JR.

James “Jim” Rucker Jr., 73, Lake City, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Andersonville.
Jim was born Feb. 6, 1945, in LaFollette to the late James M. Rucker Sr. and Gertrude Reed Rucker. He was of the Baptist Faith. Jim was a diesel mechanic for Total Trucking. Jim enjoyed building hot rods.
In addition to his father, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Walter “Tom” Rucker.
Survivors: Mother, Gertrude Reed Rucker of Andersonville; brothers, Jack Rucker of Andersonville; uncle, Jack Reed of Lake City; special friend, Linda Rucker of California.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jim at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.

Kimberly Ann Rouser, at the age of 60, passed in peace Sept. 2, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
Kim was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Knoxville to her loving parents, Ronald and Nell Johnson. Kim married her soulmate, Martin Rouser, on March 16, 1984, and had two sons, Andrew and Spencer. Kim loved travel, reading, the University of Tennessee football, hiking, boating and camping, but most of all, she loved her family. Kim will be loved for her devotion, admired for her strength, and missed by all who were blessed with knowing her.
She was preceded in death by: Father, Ronald L. Johnson; grandparents, Carl and Ruby Johnson, and Charles and Vurla Barnes.
Kim is survived by: Husband, Martin Rouser of Knoxville; sons, Andrew and Spencer Rouser of Knoxville; sister, Gloria Johnson of Knoxville; brother, Chuck Johnson and wife Sheri; niece, Rachel Pitts; nephews, Cameron and Landen Johnson.

Marlene Sue Woods, 64, Clinton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital, Knoxville.
Marlene was an avid Lady Vols fan, who loved traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. For many years she was a motor coach driver for Knoxville Tours.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Lloyd Hendrix and Mary Hamby; son, Chris Wood; brother, Steve Hamby; great-granddaughter, Danielle Woods.
