DR. GRANT RABURN CARTER

Dr. Grant Raburn Carter, 91, Rockwood, formerly of Kingston, went home to be with his Saviour Monday, Aug. 20, 2018.
He was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Newnan, Ga. He was a United States Army veteran who served his country proudly during World War II. He had worked in his younger years as a salesman for Standard Coffee for more than 25 years. Bro. Carter became a missionary and was sent out under the Baptist International Missionary Board. His specific mission field was to the African American community. Bro. Carter became a minister in 1958 and in 1975 he served as a missionary with Baptist International Missions Incorporated (BIMI). In Clinton, Md., he helped plant a church, won many souls to Christ and trained many people in the Word of God. In 1976 DR. Carter heard Gods call to Atlanta, Ga., where he met two young preachers who joined up with him. In 1985 he founded the Baptist International Bible Institute (BIBI). He was founder of Bible Institute in Harriman; former pastor of Swan Pond Baptist Church in Harriman, Gospel Light Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee Chapel Baptist Church in Paint Rock and founder ansd former pastor of Community Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Dr. Carter was also owner and operator of WBBX Christian Radio-AM1410 in Kingston until recent declining health. He loved witnessing and sharing the gospel of Christ with everyone he came in contact with on a daily basis.
Preceded in death by: Sons, Grant Randall Carter and Ronnie Stephen Carter; daughter-in-law, Kay Carter; mother of his children, Jean Carter; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Children,Terry Raburn Carter of Greenback, Darlene Lands and husband Gary of Rockwood; grandchildren, Brian and Christy Carter, Ben and Tabatha Poland, Brandy and Trevor Poe, Tara Carter, Mandy Lands; great-grandchildren, Lucas Poland, Walter Poland, Landon Watts, Preston Feezell, Olivia Poe, Peyton Poe, Briley Carter, Morgan Wilson; great-great-grandson, Brentley Breazeale; brother, Charles and Betty Carter of Hemet, Calif.; a host of extended family members and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at Fraker Funeral Home with service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Dr. Danny Guider and Dr. Dan Tibbs officiating.
Interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard.

Cheryl Johnson Taylor, Clinton, transitioned from this life Aug. 19, 2018.
She was born in Harlan County, Ky., and grew up in Oak Ridge.
Cheryl leaves behind her loving husband, D.C. Taylor Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew D. Johnson and Virginia Pennington Johnson, of Oak Ridge.
She is survived by: Children, Tracy Taylor Crawhorn, Mark Taylor, and Amanda (Anthony) Brown, all of Clinton; grandchildren, Jordan (Taylor) Taylor, Dallas Taylor, Madison (Zachary) Mashburn, Mac Taylor, Riley and Anna-Kate Hackworth; sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Dailey of Richmond, Va.; her big cat, Smokey; and a plethora of other family, friends, and loved ones.
Cheryl was a long-time member of Highland View Church of Christ in Oak Ridge and the Willie Nelson Fan Club. She enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and traveling to see Willie Nelson. She was a skilled artisan who loved sewing, painting, crocheting, and quilting. She used her talents to bless the families of local NICUs with handmade baby blankets. She was known for her quirky sense of humor and quick wit.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with services to follow at 7 p.m. with Graham McKay officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, in the rotunda of East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetry on Gov. John Sevier Highway in Knoxville for an interment service at 11:30 a.m.

Donna Faye Griffith, 76, Jacksboro, passed away Sunday, Aug.19, 2018, at her home.
Donna was of the Baptist faith. Donna was born on June 8, 1942, in Briceville to the late Kelly and Maudie Lisenbee. Donna loved taking care of children and was loved by family and friends.

John David Lane, 63, Lake City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born June 26, 1955, in Anderson County. John was loved by his family and friends and he loved his Momma and his sons very much. He was a member of the Frattersville Baptist Church. John was a hard worker who was very energetic and had a very positive attitude. He loved fishing, going to flea markets, having a garden, cooking, bowling, craw fishing, frying shrimp, watching football and riding his tractor. John was a US Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam and was very proud to serve his country.
He was preceded in death by: Father, James E. Lane; brothers, Kenneth, Bill and Terry Lane; father and mother-in-law, Arvel and Edna Crow; step-father, John H. Harmon.
Survivors: Mother, Ruby Mae Harmon of Lake City; wife, Donna Lane of Louisiana; sons, John Lane II of Louisiana, Jody Lane and wife Kelly of Louisiana, Jason Lane of Louisiana; brothers, Randy Lane and Tammy, Tim Lane; sisters, Faye Hall, Margaret Sharp and Mike; grandchildren, Kamryn Hoyt and Paige Porter; special family friends, Ryan Bourg, Corey Castleberry, Colby Clark and Lester Moore; in-laws, Kenneth Crow and Karen, Dee Clavier and Dale, Keith Crow and Peggy, Darla Sanders and Brian, Denise Huckaby and David, Karl Crow and Sheila.

PATRICE ANNE KILE
August 17, 2018
Patrice Anne Kile, 71-years old, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, following a lengthy illness.
Patrice was the oldest of seven children born to Dr. James C. Kile Jr. and Grace Spengler Kile, who preceded her in death. Patrice was born on Dec. 6, 1946, in Oak Ridge and grew up on the Kile family farm just outside of Oak Ridge, where she spent many hours riding horses and developing an interest in thoroughbred racing. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Girl Scouts, and the Swank-Ettes of Oak Ridge High School, where she graduated with the class of 1964.
In 1969, Patrice graduated from Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. During her time in college, she began her life-long love of all things Cincinnati, especially her beloved Bengals. During her work career there, Patrice especially enjoyed her chemistry research with product development at Procter and Gamble. In addition to following local sports, Patrice could be found walking her cat through the neighborhood, antique hunting, driving her gray Chevy Camaro, or fixing the tastiest fudge in the city. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., with a special interest in visiting western states and enjoying beach trips with her friends.
In addition to her parents, Patrice was preceded in death by: Brother-in-law, Adair Hotchkiss.
She is survived by: Sisters and brothers, Debbie Hotchkiss of Oak Ridge, Dorn Kile (Laura) of Clinton, Kathleen Cullen (Jim) of Cypress, Texas, Dr. James C. Kile III (Tram) of Decatur, Ga., Kevin Kile of Marietta, Ga., and Carolyn Thomas (David) of Peachtree City, Ga.
She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
We would like to thank the staff of Victorian Square in Rockwood for the loving care they have provided Patrice for many years.

Norah Gail Carden Love went home to be with our sweet Lord Aug. 16, 2018.
She was a member of East Jacksboro Baptist church. Gail loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a huge fan of Tennessee football. She enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceeded in death by: Father, Carl Carden, and mother, Gladys P. Carden.
She is survived by: Two loving children, Jessica and Jacob Foust; grandchildren, Norah Foust, Trevor Van Severen, Jaxton Van Severen, Brooklyn Foust, and Brianna Carroll; brothers, Tommy Carden and wife Candy, Steve Carden and wife Barbara; sister, Cathy Daugherty, Tony Carden and her companion Guy Love; along with many nieces nephews and friends.
She will be missed by all that knew her.
Graveside memorial will be at noon Saturday Sept. 1, 2018, at Clear Branch Baptist Church in Rocky Top.

Rebecca Sue Galvin, 58, Clinton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at her home.
Becky was a CNA for many years before working with children both at St. Mark United Methodist Church daycare and with Anderson County Schools.
Becky was preceded in death by: Parents, Delford and Clara Belle Marlow; infant daughter, Cynthia Jeffers; brother, Delford Marlow Jr.; grandson, Briyson Galvin.
Becky is survived by: The love of her life, grandson, “Baby Dale” Victor Delford Watson; her children, Tyler Galvin and Angel Galvin; sisters, Darlene Hensley and husband Randy, Nancy Hutchinson, and Penny Pass and husband Dennis; grandson, Aiden Galvin; several special nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from noon – 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow the service in Red Hill Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank UT Hospice especially Tammie and Shannon and Chaplain Ben Neal for their love and support during Becky’s illness. Also, special cousins that helped with the care of Becky, Kathy, Patty, and Martha along with very special family friend Tammie Allen.

Lucille E. Boles, 77, Clinton passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
She was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Danbury, Conn., to the late Jerry and Jenny Manone.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: Husband, Gerald Boles; and brother, Jerry Manone.
She is survived by: Son, Michael Manone and wife Lisa of Ten Mile; grandchildren, Caroline, Jacob and Haley Manone, Sean Long, Jessica Hawes, Shayna Lamb, Joshua Willey, Samantha Willey, and Noah Manone; great-grandson, Jonathan Turgeon/Willey; brother, Jimmy Manone; several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a memorial service held at a later date.
