Gloria Vowell, 53, Clinton, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Gloria enjoyed outdoor activities especially going to the beach and swimming. She loved being with her family and friends and was very protective of her children.
Gloria was preceded in death by: Parents, Ulys and Manda Vowell; and son, Tyler Vowell.
Gloria is survived by: Son, Noah Jackson and his father, Freddy Jackson, of Knoxville; brother, Randy Vowell of Mountain City; sisters, Pam Nichols and husband Bill, and Sherry Rainey Stokes, all of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Jessica Lockett and husband Bryan, Pete Rainey and wife Diane, Billy Nichols and fiancé Misty, and Amanda Nichols; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Gloria’s family will receive her friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Jones Mortuary in Clinton with her funeral service immediately following at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary with Bro. Robert Jones officiating.
Gloria’s interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Foust Cemetery in Lake City.

Uvonnia Garrison Ridenour, 76, Andersonville, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Clinton.
She enjoyed going to flea markets and buying for her grandchildren. Uvonnia loved watching her grandchildren and reading the Bible to them. She enjoyed taking care of every child in the community. Uvonnia was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist in Clinton.
Uvonnia was preceded in death by: Parents, Charles and Rebecca Garrison; husband, James Clay Ridenour; brothers, Delmar Garrison, and Kenny Garrison; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Jordyn.
Uvonnia is survived by: Sons, Glenn Ridenour and wife Mary, Kent Ridenour and wife Sharon, and Jimmy Ridenour and wife Shannon, all of Andersonville; daughter, Pamela Mack and husband Eric of Clinton; brother, Ollie Garrison of Murfreesboro; sisters, Wilma Ferrell of Georgia, and Geraldine Dewitt of Florida; grandchildren, Kelsey, Brittany, Christopher, Amber, Tiffany, Aaron, Isaac, Samuel, Emma, Eric Jr., Goldie, Daniel, and Eric D.; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Noah, Abigail, Caiden, Rhiannon, Aden, Cage, Katie, and Valorie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Anthony Ray Peterson passed away suddenly Thursday June 1, 2017, at the age of 47.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., but eventually made his home here in East Tennessee. Tony graduated from Rutledge High School in 1988 and soon after that enlisted in the United States Navy, completing almost eight years and serving on two tours in Iraq as a corpsman. Not too long after returning home Tony found his passion in fishing, hunting and softball. Soon after, he met his wife through softball and they spent a thrill ride like no other for the next 20 years. He resided with his wife, Rebecca Dawn Tibbs Peterson, and children, Alexus Peterson
— 17-years-old — and Madison Peterson — 19-years-old — in Caryville. Tony worked at what would’ve been 19 years at Techmer PM and made many, many memories and friends.
Tony is preceded in death by: Mother, Sandra Gail Peterson; grandmother, Nellie Jones; and Grandpa Jones.
He is survived in death by: Beloved wife, Rebecca; daughter, Alexus; son, Madison; and animals, Coco, Bella, Luna and Talula; sister, Charlotte Helton; brother, Matt “Poppy” Helton; nieces, Chantelle Goodman and Monica Goodman; nephews, Cody Goodman, Ethan Helton and Burnout Jackson; father, Ronald Peterson; sister, Jennifer Reeser; two nephews, Landon and Dylan Reeser.
He is also survived by: Great-nephew, Carter Goodman; brother, Adam Bullock and friend Jessica Lovely; special father, Larry Tibbs and wife Glenna Tibbs.
He is also survived by multiple non-blood sisters and brothers, as well, Emily and Aubrey Chapman, Tracy Fisher and Sandra Hatfield, Benji Braden, John Earl, and too many more to name.

Fleda Louise Lovely, 80, Claxton, passed away June 1, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Caryville. She was the proud mother of five children. She and her husband, Donald, left their home in Lake City in 1965 to build a life for their family in Detroit, Mich. After more than 25 years, they returned to their native state, built their dream home, and lived a happy retirement. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, The Rev. and Mrs. Lemuel Phillips; two brothers, Glenn Phillips and Edison Phillips; and two sisters, Lola Lambo and Gladys Carden.
Survivors include: Husband of 55 years, Donald Lovely; two daughters, Debbie (and Frank Cusmano), and Sheryl (and Jim Davis); and three sons, Mike (and Donna) Carden, Donald Alan (and Ronda) Lovely, and Randy (and John) Lovely.
She was a devoted grandmother to Amber (and Chris) Lovely, Lindsey (and Mike) Saloiye, Nicolas Cusmano, and Dana (and Doug) Tufts.
She is also survived by her sister and best friend for life, Beulah (and Scotty) Gray.

Evelyn Stooksbury Longmire, 85, Powell, formerly of Andersonville, passed away peacefully at Tennova North Friday, June 2, 2017.
Evelyn was a charter member of Bearden United Methodist Church and was a current member of Powell United Methodist Church. For many years she worked at First American Bank in Norris where she later retired. Evelyn and her husband, Glenn, enjoyed many years of traveling all 50 states. Evelyn was known for her wit and good cooking. She initiated a bridge club in Norris and played for many years.
She was preceded in death by: Husband of 58 years, Glenn Longmire; son, Gary Longmire; parents, Reed and Cletus Stooksbury; sister, Nancy.
Evelyn is survived by: Daughters, Debbie Scates of Halls, and Jane Holland and husband Terry of Oliver Springs, daughter-in-law, Patsy Longmire of Knoxville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Stooksbury of Knoxville; sister, Brenda McCurdy and husband Mike of Greer, S.C.; sister-in-law, Carol Clapp of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
The family would like to especially thank the caregivers at Maple Court Assisted Living and Tennova North for their loving care given to Evelyn.

Hazel (Irene) Long, 90, of the Dutch Valley Community, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 2, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Joe B. Long Sr., former Anderson County Road Superintendent. She was a long time member of First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Irene enjoyed her flower gardens, her grandchildren, cooking and was known for her strawberry pies and cornbread.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, James and Mossie Lindsay; husband, Joe B. Long Sr.; eight brothers; and six sisters.
Irene is survived by: Sons, Joe B. Long Jr., Gary Long (Phyllis), and Larry Long; daughters, Geraldine White (Jerry), Lorene White (Roger), Glenna McGhee, and Wanda Schweigel (Robert); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends was from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017.
Hazel’s funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with burial following at Long Cemetery in Dutch Valley, the Rev. Jeff Parrott and the Rev. Gene Roach officiated.

Frances Hooks Humphrey, 83, Heiskell, passed away May 29, 2017, at her residence.
She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist. Frances was born Oct. 20, 1933, to the late Steve and Myrtle Hooks.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: Son, Gary Lynn; brothers, Clyde, Dean, W.L., twin Frank Hooks.
She is survived by: Husband of 65 years, William (Bill) Humphrey; daughter, Wilma Foust; son, Billy Humphrey and wife Patsy; grandson, Denver Waddell and wife Natalie; great-grandson, Tyler Waddell; brother, George Hooks; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hooks, Wanda Collins, and June Walker; brother-in-law, David Wilkerson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Her funeral service followed in the chapel with the Rev. Joseph Copeland officiating.

Gerald Graham Sr., 75, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
Gerald was a Vietnam veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gerald enjoyed coaching for Clinton Jr. High School and South Clinton Optimist Club, fishing, and reading. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gerald was a member of Clinton Christian Church.Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Ruth McFarland Graham. Gerald is survived by: Wife, Barbara Williams Graham of Clinton; son, Jerry Graham of Clinton; four grandchildren, Jerry Graham III, Nicholas Graham, Alyssa Graham, and Autumn Graham; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Graham, and Aubrey Graham; special niece, Samantha Byrge; special grandchild, Madisyn Graham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gerald’s pallbearers were Jerry Graham III, Nicholas Graham, Jason Leinart, Jason Phillips, Dylan Kear, and Tony Duncan; honorary pallbearers are Teddy Phillips, and Chris Kenner.
