John Earl Coward passed away at Harriman Care & Rehabilitation Center Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the age of 76.
John was born to John Alvey and Opal Alberta Coward July 12, 1940. He married JoAnn Coward (deceased) on Sept. 21, 1961.
John is survived by: Son, Randy Coward and wife Judy of Clinton; daughter, Tracey Branham and husband Richard of Ten Mile, and daughter Debbie Neal and husband Tim of Powell.
He was Papaw to Cody Branham, Ryan Keeton, Courtney Neal and Camden Neal.
He was preceded in death by: Brothers, Edward and Bobby Coward; and sisters, Hazel “Tootsie” Johnson and Mildred Coward.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Springhill Baptist Church.
DOROTHY M. CARDEN

Dorothy M. Carden, 77, Jacksboro, passed away June 1, 2017, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Blanche, Ky., to the late Parker and Alice Smith. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandkids. Dorothy was a member of Fratersville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by: Son, Billy Ray Sizemore; brothers, Bill J., and Richard Smith; and sister, Pauline Smith.
Survivors: Husband of 56 years, G.B. Carden; daughter, Sharon Carden Kebert; sons, Tony Carden and wife Theresa, G.B. Carden Jr., and wife Gwen; grandchildren, Anndina Effler, Renee Hicks, Whitney Wilson, Jeffrey Carden, Brittany Carden, Jeremy Carden, and Jessica Carden; six great-grandchildren; brother, Roscoe Smith and wife Ann; special friends, Dora and Jimmy Sprankles; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Long officiating.
Family and friends met at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, to go in procession to Sulpher Springs Cemetery in Clinton for graveside services.

Richard Benyo, 64, Clinton, passed away May 7, 2017, at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Andersonville.
He was born July 11, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Louise Fauitta Benyo.
Richard was of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed playing video games with Jacob White, watching TV, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Glory Benyo.
Survivors include: Sons, Tim Ivey of Clinton, John Mason Ramsey of West Virginia, Earnest Reese of Ohio, Michael Reese of Ohio; daughters, Callie Ivey of Clinton, Tammy Reese of Ohio; granddaughter, Britney Ward of Clinton; great-granddaughter, Kyndal Daughtery; brothers, Raymond Benyo of Ohio, John Benyo of Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Richard’s wishes were to be cremated.

HAZEL IRENE LONG

Hazel (Irene) Long, 90, of the Dutch Valley Community, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 2, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Joe B. Long Sr., former Anderson County Road Superintendent. She was a long time member of First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Irene enjoyed her flower gardens, her grandchildren, cooking and was known for her strawberry pies and cornbread.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, James and Mossie Lindsay; husband, Joe B. Long Sr.; eight brothers; and six sisters.
Irene is survived by: Sons, Joe B. Long Jr., Gary Long (Phyllis), and Larry Long; daughters, Geraldine White (Jerry), Lorene White (Roger), Glenna McGhee, and Wanda Schweigel (Robert); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends was from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017.
Hazel’s funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with burial following at Long Cemetery in Dutch Valley, the Rev. Jeff Parrott and the Rev. Gene Roach officiated.

JAMES ELMO (MO) ANDERSON

James Elmo (Mo) Anderson, age 82, of Clinton, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born Oct. 19, 1934 in Knoxville and was saved at the age of 12 at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.
He was a faithful member of New Mountain View Baptist Church in Oliver Springs and attended as long as his health permitted. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 376 and also a member of Knoxville Scottish Rites. Mo was a United States Navy veteran who served his country proudly during his years of service. He enjoyed fishing and gardening work. He loved gospel music, traveling with The Joyaires for 12 years.
Preceded in death by his precious wife of 44 years, Catherine (Cat) McGeorge Anderson; son, David Wayne Anderson; first wife, Dot Shetterly Anderson; parents, Frank and Bessie Hicks Anderson.
Survivors include his son, Gary Alan Anderson and wife, Shirley of Oliver Springs; step-son and caregiver, Ronald Dean (Ronnie) Manning of Clinton; step-sons, Billy Wayne Manning of Knoxville; Jimmy Glen Manning and wife, Kim of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jamie Fleisch, Misty Anderson, Josh Anderson, Kristi Anderson, Jimmy Manning II; great grandchildren, Tristan Fleisch, Addison Manning, Kallie Hammer; brother-in-law Larry (Bud) McGeorge and wife Judy of Tazewell; sister-in-law Veda Jan Miller and husband Leonard of Dyllis; as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss Mo very much.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at New Mountain View Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Funeral service followed the visitation in the church sanctuary with Rev. Joseph Copeland and Rev. Gary Breazeale officiating.

Laura K. Baker, age 59 formerly of Oak Ridge passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at Summit View of Rocky Top. She was a loyal and faithful daughter, sister, mother and friend who always had a bubbly personality. She will be deeply missed.

Danny Bruce Davis, age 61, of Claxton, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at his home. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by parents, John R. and Irene Bruce Davis.
Survivors: sons, Robert Davis and Daniel Davis; daughter, Tamara Davis; son, Nathaniel Hibbert; granddaughter, Brylie Michelle Davis; sister, Andy Wear; brothers, Bob Davis, Rick Davis and Marty Davis; several nieces and nephews.

FRANK D. BOGGS

Frank D. Boggs, 81, of Clinton, was born March 11, 1936 and passed away May 23, 2017. He was the only surviving son of the late Harrison and Ora Boggs of King’s Creek, Ky. Of the 13 children, there is one remaining, daughter Jewel Crase of Letcher County, Ky.
After graduating from Whitesburg High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. He attended the University of Kentucky and received a degree in Civil Engineering. His career started with L&N Railroad.
In 1962, he met and married Caralyn Sue Childers of Cumberland, Ky., a marriage lasting 54 years.
After working several years with L&N Railroad, he accepted a job with Queen City Railroad Construction Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.
While living in Northern Kentucky, Frank and Sue had three children: Suzi, Brent, and Bradley.
In 1976, Frank was asked to move to Knoxville, TN and tasked with opening an office of Queen City Railroad in Karns.
Several years later, he and his dear friend, and owner of Queen City, Glenn H. Healy started Unitrac Railroad Materials, also in Karns.
Frank ran both companies until Unitrac was well-established, retiring in 2000; he always missed his work.
During retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren: Daniel and Clay, sons of daughter Suzi and Eric Schmidt of Clinton; Maddie, Sarah, and Kate, daughters of son Brent and Christy Boggs of Knoxville; Benjamin and Caden, sons of Bradley Boggs of Charleston, S.C.
They, of course, were his pride and joy!
During retirement, he volunteered his time with Mission of Hope, and always had a special love for under-privileged children. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Education Foundation The Teachers Depot located at 141 East Broad St. Clinton, TN. 37716, a charity for children’s school supplies.
Frank was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton.
Frank “Paw” loved his family dearly, providing them with memories that will last a life time.
The family received friends from 3-5 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Clinton. His funeral service immediately followed in the chapel with Rev. Stan Elliott officiating.
