Public Notice Advertisement Bond Release Application
Premium Coal Company, Inc. 302 South Jefferson St, Roanoke, VA 24011 is applying for Phase 1, 2 & 3 bond release on Permit No.3064. The permit consists of 59.5 acres and is located in ANDERSON County. Refuse Storage Area #3 is located in McQueen Hollow approximately 1 mile northwest of Briceville, TN community in Anderson County. This site is located on the Lake City, TN 137 NW U.S.G.S. quad map at N 36 degrees 11’ 23” latitude and W 84 degrees 12’ 21” longitude. No coal is to be mined or removed in this operation.
The bond amount for this permit 3064 is $ 160,000 in the form of a surety bond. A total permit and bond release of 160,000 is requested.
The bond release is based on completion of the following reclamation:
• The only disturbance had been development of access road, which is to be left permanent for landowner access.
Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or an informal conference may be submitted to the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, 710 Locust St, Second Floor, Knoxville, TN 37902 prior to October 16, 2026 which is 30 days following the last publication date.
